I’ve had various personal sites over the years that have fallen by the wayside. They existed in their time and place and served their purpose, however small. For now, this is my digs on the web.

I’m a SysAdmin. At the moment I mostly work on Solaris systems but I’ve got your back on Linux, Mac & Windows. I’ll gladly pretend to have a strong belief in the superiority of any operating system that someone is bashing. Linux vs Solaris? Windows vs Mac? I’m there for the least vocal side in any ‘conversation’. Mostly to keep things fair and make sure the loudest side is making claims that are true. I’m not so interested in the result as the process.

I love photography. Creating photographs pushes me in a way that working with computers just can’t. Photography finds my weaknesses and nudges (sometimes for very large values of ‘nudge’) me to improve upon them. It has me thinking of the next shot whilst giving me time to enjoy the current one. I don’t think I will ever be satisfied with where I am at as a photographer and that feeling has me hooked. Yes, it’s complicated.

Most of all I love helping people. That’s probably been my primary motivation for putting stuff up on the web. If I’ve had to invest loads of time & brainpower into solving a particular problem, I figure there’s a good chance someone else out there is in the same position. I’ll leave it to Google to hook us up. Feel free to say Hi if you’re that someone!
